Work Conditioning for First Responders

The Center’s Work Conditioning program is designed to strengthen patients and companies. This is ideal for those patients who have physically active jobs and have done well with traditional PT for the injured body part but are yet unable to meet the physical demands of their job. Work conditioning addresses the injured employee as a whole and strives to get the injured area integrated back into full body movements and the employee back to work beyond limits.

Work conditioning incorporates work related tasks, strength training, endurance, cardiovascular endurance, core stability and mobility as the patient needs. The patient is observed on their overall function for work related tasks in efforts to correct biomechanical and strength deficits as well as compensatory techniques that may lead to injury later on. Patients are re-injured less frequently after going through work conditioning because they are better prepared for the day-to-day demands of their job.

For the employer’s benefit, patients come back to work safely and often quicker from work-related injuries. This means less time off full duty that should translate to savings for the employer and insurance. We have had the pleasure to work with many First Responder employees, and we consider it an honor to help these men and women get back to serving our communities!
