Radial Pressure Treatment

Relief with Radial Pressure Treatment (RPT)

Radial pressure waves are acoustic waves that generate oscillations in the tissue. Radial Pressure Treatment helps reduce muscle pain and activate connective tissue, temporarily aid in the increase of blood flow, and helps to improve pain in various musculoskeletal conditions.

Common Conditions

RPT can be beneficial in treating issues that relate to tendonitis, chronic scars, tendinosis and other myofascial problems. Common complaints are:

  • Shoulder pain
  • Elbow pain
  • Knee pain
  • Achilles pain
  • Plantar & heel pain

What are the benefits?

  • Short treatment time (approx. 10 minutes or less)
  • Treat large areas
  • Non-invasive and no known significant adverse effects
  • Provide muscle massage
  • Results in a few treatments (approx. 4-8)
  • Alternative to medication

What Does it Feel Like?

Patients may report feeling soreness and a thumping sensation when the acoustic pressure passes over dysfunctional tissues. Patients report feeling very little discomfort when it actively travels over healthy tissue. The level of discomfort depends on the area being treated, the settings on the device, and the acuity of the condition. Minor post-treatment soreness around the involved area is not uncommon.
