TPI Golf Fitness Assessment

There is no doubt that the game of golf is advancing. Top players like Bryson DeChambeau are starting to focus more on their fitness levels and are making small adjustments to improve their performance. Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) assessment is being used by these high level athletes to improved golf performance. The current number one golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking, Jon Rahm, is dedicated to TPI fitness performance and is trained by TPI professionals. He is just one of many that use TPI to enhance their fitness level and improve their golf swing.

I am a Physical Therapist who is trained in providing these assessments. I have helped many golfers through using this assessment and program.

For example, I saw a client who came to me with bilateral knee pain who loved to walk 18 holes. His knee pain was limiting him and he had to get injections every couple of months. After our TPI assessment and individualized program, he was able to return to what he loved and no longer needed his injections due to his pain improving so much.

Let’s dive into TPI and little deeper.

What is TPI?

The TPI assessment was designed in such a way that it can be applied to any golfer, of any age, and at any fitness level. The assessment breaks down the golf swing into fundamental movement patterns that are needed for an efficient swing. During the assessment, we analyze your individual movement patterns, identify areas of deficit, and connect these deficits to potential swing faults.

How can it help me?

Fitness. Our assessment and personalized fitness program can help you gain strength and mobility to help you improve your swing mechanics.

Pain or injury. If you are someone who always comes back from a round of golf with pain, this assessment can help identify movement patterns that may be causing your pain. We will then address these movement patterns with a personalized fitness program.

Injury prevention. Our assessment can help identify weak points that could potentially lead to injury or pain. Again, we address these weak points with a personalized fitness program to help you stay on the golf course.

Coming off of surgery? With physician clearance, we can assess your movement patterns to get you back on the course even stronger than you were before surgery.

The TPI assessment is for everyone. Regardless of age, the assessment will help me identify your deficits and guide you to correct those deficits to reduce injury risk and improve your golf game.
