Yoga Workout for Spinal Extension

If you are a patient attending physical therapy for low back pain, your therapist may be prescribing spinal extension stretching for you. (“Press ups” ring a bell?) Generally if you are performing spinal extension stretching your therapist has also instructed you to avoid spinal flexion like bending forward while picking things up and sitting in a rounded posture.

Since typical yoga routines include spinal flexion, we created this video specifically for patients who need to stretch into extension and avoid flexion yet who want the benefits of a yoga workout.
